Mobility is important for seniors to have a high quality of life. This can improve happiness and promote wellness. Nurses in skilled nursing facilities work hard every day to prevent a serious risk to a senior lifestyle, falls. According to the RNJournal, an average nursing home with 100 beds reports 100 to 200 falls annually. Some medications can cause adverse reaction and sypmtoms that could lead to falls.
One approach to preventing falls is drug regimen reviews by a CPS Pharmacy Consultant. During these monthly reviews, your consultant will make recommendations, including grudual dose reduction. This could ultimately help prevent falls.
You can also request an immediate review by filling out a med review request form and fax to CPs. Responses will be returned via fax or email.
