Insulin Brand Name Changes for your Residents

Insurance companies behind switch

Your residents could soon begin receiving different brand names of insulin from CPS. This change is due to insurance companies finding less expensive options to combat rising insuling costs.

Brand names impacted are:

  • - Lantus - The replacement brand is Basaglar
  • - Humalog - The replacement brand is Admelog
  • - Novolog - The replacement brand is Fiasp

There is a possibility the new insulin will arrive with pens and pen needles, instead of vials and syringes.

If a change is required by insurance, CPS will contact your facility and ask for a new prescription for the replacement insulin brand.

If you have questions, please call CPS at (877) 626-3110 and ask for a pharmacist.
